Decompressive hemicraniectomy for patients with malignant cerebral venous sinus thrombosis

Background and objective: 
 Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) is a rare cause of stroke may lead to the development raised intracranial pressure due edema, infarct or bleed. These patients require decompressive hemicraniectomy reduce pressure. However, evidence for in these scanty. Our objective was perform retrospective chart review describe clinical characteristics who underwent malignant CVT their outcomes.
 Methods:
 We retrospectively analyzed medical records with CVST between 2013 2020 at Shifa International Hospital. All diagnosed on basis radiographic findings were included study. Patients primary metastatic brain tumors excluded from study.
 Results: A total 138 presented our hospital. Twenty-seven (19.6) developed CVST. Of patients, 10 (7.2% total). None died seven (70%) had modified Rankin scale score 2 less three months.
 Conclusion: Decompressive should be considered presenting do not respond treatment.
